Taiwan too Strong for Aussies

Written by  Friday, 26 October 2012 11:13

Australia suffered a 5-0 loss to Taiwan in their second group game at the World Junior Championships in Japan last night. After a tough match in the morning session, the Aussies were outclassed by a strong Taiwanese team that include current women’s singles world number 11 Tai Tzu Ying.

Taiwan dominated all 5 matches and gave the Australian’s a good indication of the level required to compete with countries where players are training full time from before they are 10 years old.

The Aussies will take on Czech Republic later this afternoon in what is a battle for 3rd and 4th place in the group.
