Victoria and NSW top Groups at Clendinnen Shield

Written by  Monday, 27 August 2012 14:28

Victoria and NSW Thunder are yet to drop a tie after winning all three of their matches during the Pool stage of the Ede Clendinnen Shield in Sydney over the weekend.

In Pool B Victoria dropped just 3 games during their defeats of The Territories, NSW Lightning and Western Australia to top the table and cruise through to the semi-finals. Although losing to Victoria, WA finished second in the pool with strong wins in their other matches.

NSW was equally impressive in topping Pool A, with convincing wins over Queensland, South Australia and Tasmania. The battle for second place in Pool B was an extremely close affair with Queensland narrowly edging out South Australia 7-6 when the two states went head to head, and with that victory securing a semi-final spot.

The semi-finals will see Victoria face Queensland, with NSW taking on WA for a place in Tuesdays final. Matches get underway today at 5pm AEST. Click here for full results.
