Our National team preps to take on the Olympics!

Australia's 2012 Olympic representatives will depart for the UK tomorrow after wrapping up their pre games camp in Melbourne on Friday with a series of matches against sparring players from Malaysia and Indonesia. For the past two weeks the Australian team have been joined by several top Malaysian, Indonesian and Taiwanese players as well as the best players from around Australia in order to put the final touches on their preparation.

Former world top 5 pair Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif and Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari we enlisted help Glenn Warfe and Ross Smith prepare for the Men's Doubles and brought an increased level of intensity and experience to the sessions. The Malaysian's got the better of Warfe and Smith in the final matches, taking a tough three game win. Fresh off their win at the Victorian Internatioanal, Indonesians Devi Tika Permatasari and Kesha Hanadia had the responsibility of prepareing Leanne Choo and Renuga Veeran in the Women's Doubles. It was Permatisari's second stint of sparring in Australia after helping prepare the Australian Team for the 2010 Commonwealth Games. After defeating Choo and Veeran comfortably in the of the Vic International, Choo and Veeran showed the past two weeks of training was showing benefits, defeating the Indonesians in to games to round out the Camp.

Several Australian players as well as an international player from Taiwan were helped to prepare Victoria Na for Women's Singles, who showed strong improvements across the past two weeks

he Australia Team will spend a week training in Darby, England before heading into the Olympic Games Village in London. Keep an eye on the BA website for further updates.
