The National Development Program brings together the very best Junior athletes and coaches across Australia to support athlete development through national camps, coach mentoring, coach collaboration, and the development of documented athlete plans to ready these athletes for the world stage

The National Development Program is the next progression in the pathway for athletes transitioning out of the state-based programs and meeting the Badminton Australia National Selection Criteria and Guidelines. 

The main objective is to provide development opportunities and experiences to leading national junior athletes and their coaches to assist with the progression on to the world stage. Camps will be delivered throughout the year and based at the Australian Institute of Sport and other various venues around the country as appropriate.

Athletes who are selected for the National Development Program may also be selected to attend state-based programs.

Players are selected annually to the National Development Program based on results at National Championships and past performance. For the selection criteria please click here.
